Nicole Lillie

Youth Voter Engagement Project Director

Nicole Lillie

Nicole (she/her/hers) is a Political Science student at University of California, San Diego. She joined OTTA United in July of 2022 and is serving as the Project Director of the Youth Voter Engagement Project. The YVEP team plans to re-register, inform, and embolden UC San Diego students, and help facilitate UC San Diego’s shift to a civically engaged campus climate. Committed to voter engagement even before joining OTTA United, Nicole led two Voter [Pre-]Registration Drives [pre-]registering over 300 students in 2019 and holding a virtual drive in 2020. She also led her high school’s Rotary Interact Club, establishing lasting club bylaws and garnering over 70 regular volunteers by refusing to employ restrictive G.P.A. or hour requirements for membership.

Utilizing both her role as OTTA United’s YVE Project Director and as Thurgood Marshall College Student Council’s Civic Engagement Officer, Nicole hopes to continue to help create open and inclusive spaces for youth of all identities, backgrounds, and interests to feel confident and comfortable being civically engaged. After graduation, Nicole hopes to continue advocacy and engagement work for communities often excluded or neglected from spaces meant for everyone.
